1. Shoulder Pain
Softball players create velocity with the strength of their lower body and back. Energy is transferred across the shoulder to the ball mainly by the pectoralis major muscle on the front of the chest. The muscle on the side of the chest wall called the serratus anterior, stabilizes the shoulder blade (scapula).

2. Impingement Syndrome
Impingement means pressure on a group of tendons within the shoulder known as the rotator-cuff tendons. the tendon most typically affected is that of the muscle called 'supra-spinatus'.

3. Forearm Injuries
General aches and pains throughout the arms are very common in softball players, probably as a result of the sheer number of throws that a player makes during a game. It is common for softball players to develop 'Tennis Elbow' but also a condition called 'Pronator Syndrome'.

4. Tennis Elbow
Tennis elbow is usually caused by prolonged gripping activities which result in an inflammation of the muscles and tendons as they attach to the humerous. Tennis elbow does not only affect tennis players who of course frequently strain the muscles in this area. It is also caused by other sports and by work or hobbies that involve repetitive movements.

5. Ankle Sprains
Ankle sprains are common in softball but can be the cause of long term problems. The term ankle sprain means injury to the supporting ligaments of the ankle (most commonly the ligaments on the outside edge of the ankle). Sometimes additional injury caused, such as a fracture of one of the bones that makes up the ankle joint.
