MILD SUNBURN
Firstly, kick yourself soundly for not slathering yourself in sun-cream in the first place!
Secondly, dampen a towel with cool water (not too cold) to cool the skin down. Lukewarm baths and showers are really soothing too.
Stay out of the sun and apply after-sun lotion if you have any. Aloe Vera and Camomile based ones are very good. A handy suitcase essential - Tea Tree and Witch Hazel cream is light non- greasy cream, it also contains zinc oxide which relieves the pain, soothes, and is excellent for many skin conditions. Try not to use greasy, oily lotions as they can actually trap the heat in the skin slowing the healing process.
Drink plenty of water and stay off alcohol as it dehydrates the body
Get a hat and stay in the shade and please...APPLY SUNBLOCK!

BITES
Again, Tea Tree and Witch Hazel cream is a fantastic product to keep in your suitcase, as it is perfect for bites, cuts, grazes and spots. The Tea Tree acts as an antiseptic while the Witch Hazel soothes and reduces the swelling also relieving the pain and annoying itch.
A fresh slice of aubergine or cucumber applied to the bite can draw the toxins out of the bite area and ease swelling and itching.
It's a difficult choice when going out in the evening; avoiding scented deodorants, aftershave and perfume will help you stay bite free (mosquitoes do love sweet smelling blood donors), but in a hot climate you may be friend free too!

MILD DIARRHOEA
This condition often occurs at some point of holiday...whether it is due to food poisoning, or just a tummy bug caught on the plane.
Always consult a doctor if condition exceeds 24hours accompanied by a high temperature. This is especially important with children as they can dehydrate very quickly.
Drink lots of water, although it is important to remember that vital salts can be lost which must be replaced.
If you don't have any over the counter remedies, a good tip is to add ¼ teaspoon of salt and 3 level teaspoons of sugar to a bottle of water and try to drink at least ½ to 3/4 pint every 2 hours.
