Did you know that nibbling a small amount of cheese could be good for your teeth?
Dental Caries is a disease caused by acids, sugars and starches breaking down the protective enamel on teeth.
Small quantities of cheese eaten after a sugary or starchy meal not only stimulate saliva to neutralise the harmful acids it also increases the calcium concentration. Another benefit is the fat in the cheese reduces the amount of bacteria on the surface of the tooth.
Whilst it's not a reason to toss the toothbrush, modest portions could at least counteract excesses of an indulgent meal until bedtime!
