
Snacking on nuts has been found to reduce the risk of heart disease.
Reported in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology a small portion of have high levels of arginine (an amino acid that helps relax blood vessels) and can also enhance the immune system. Hardening of the arteries is one of the main contributing factors to heart attacks and disease. Walnuts are especially beneficial as they have high quantities of Omega 3 which helps to maintain a regular heartbeat and help lower blood pressure.
