1. I suffer quite badly from PMS, is there any way I can change my diet to help?

PMS is more common in those women who have a diet high in salt and sugar. Cutting back on these to may help. As can regular exercise and trying to reduce stress levels.

2. My husband and I are planning to have a baby, is there any advice you can give me?

A It is important that both you and your husband eat a nutritious well balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, however you should avoid liver and liver pates as they can contain very high amounts of vitamin A which can be harmful in large amounts. Also avoid raw eggs and unpasturised dairy products which may contain listeria which can be harmful to the unborn child. Importantly you should also take a 400mcg folic acid supplement. Folic acid has been shown to prevent spina bifida and it is not possible to obtain the recommended amount from diet alone. More information is available on www.preconceive.co.uk
